SHREWSBURY, Massachusetts - Price Chopper Supermarkets is voluntarily recalling its ‘Regular Homestyle Potato Salad’ due to the potential of listeria contamination. The product in question was sold by the pound in the stores’ delis between the dates of March 19 and March 28, 2011. No related illnesses have been reported.
In addition to alerting the media, Price Chopper has initiated its Smart Reply notification service, which uses purchase data and consumer phone numbers on file in connection with the company’s AdvantEdge (loyalty) card to alert those households that may have purchased the product in question.
Customers are encouraged to return any ‘Regular Homestyle Potato Salad’ that was purchased during this time frame to the store for a full refund.
Customers with questions may speak with a Price Chopper Customer Service Agent by calling 1-800-666-7667 X3 between 8:30AM and 5:00PM Monday through Friday.
Some may remember that Listeria was the suspected culprit in the deaths of three seniors who had consumed product from the now defunct Whitter Dairy, here in Shrewsbury. Again, Price Chopper stresses that there have been no reports of illnesses, but wants to get out in advance and alert the public.
