frontsample-1Bands with a unique sound are difficult to come across these days, but this band has exceeded all of my expectations. The style is an acquired taste, but once used to it, it will blow you away. A mix of acoustic/ambient, melodic guitar riffs and fast paced drumming is an odd sound at first, but with subtle hardcore undertones thrown in it makes for a very interesting listen. On top of this strange mix of instrumentals, their pop-punk-esque vocals add a happy, somewhat excited tone to an otherwise dark and mysterious sound. Random key changes keep the listener interested and quick switches from heavy to light sounds keep you wondering what to expect next. The whole CD is excellent but the high points for myself are personally the key change towards the end of the song “And Then The Hurricane…” and the dark tone and creative melody to “The Side Effects Of”. The whole tone of this excellent CD can be expressed through the sudden change from verse to chorus in “This Disease”

For fans of: Anyone with an open mind who wants to hear a sound like they’ve never heard before.
