SHREWSBURY, Massachusetts – We have seen recycling days here in Shrewsbury over the years, but this year, in celebration of Earth Day, the Shrewsbury Rotary Club has put together one that is truly unique. Instead of paying for each item that you wish to recycle, this is going to be a $30 per load program. Yes, that means you can fill your car, van or pickup truck with all the recyclable items you can, and for one low price, bring it on over the to the parking lot behind the Glavin Center on Lake St. on April 22nd, from 1-4PM
Bring old appliances, bicycles, electrical items, computers, monitors, cell phones, power supplies, keyboards. You can bring anything made of metal or plastics, from old lawn furniture to children’s toys, broken tools, lawnmowers, snowblowers (all fuel must be emptied), chain saws or anything else. You name it and they’ll probably take it.
Things they won’t take are wood, liquids, glass, rubber, and upholstered furniture. Broken TV’s are ok but are priced on a per pound basis.
What a great time to clean out that garage, and get rid of a host of things without having to tie a blue bag to it! At the same time, you’ll be supporting the great work that the Shrewsbury Rotary Club consistently does to help those in our community.
