Shrewsbury, Massachusetts – The Town of Shrewsbury and SELCO has the option of utilizing their CodeRED® Emergency Notification System, tested back in March, to reach out to residents during the upcoming storm.
You can access the CodeRED® registration page directly at http://www.shrewsbury-ma.gov/codered
We suggest that all individuals and businesses take time to register and/or review their information on our website. What should be included are cellular phones and other non-traditional phones as well as email and text addresses (if you chose to be notified by those means). If an individual’s contact information is not in the database they will not receive messages from the system during emergency events. In particular businesses should register, as well as individuals who have unlisted phone numbers, who have changed their phone number recently, and those who use a cellular phone exclusively or have VoIP phones (such as Vonage) as their primary numbers.
More information about our CodeRED® system is on the website (http://www.shrewsbury- ma.gov/codered), any questions regarding this servicer may be directed to the SELCO CIO at 508- 841-8318.
TheCodeRED® program is currently under trial to ascertain whether it is something worth funding in Fiscal Year 2013 and beyond.
