SHREWSBURY, Massachusetts – As all in the area start to focus on the upcoming Black Friday shopping spree, and where we can get the hottest things at the best price, there is a demographic right here in the Shrewsbury area that has a totally different problem. Over the years the Shrewsbury Leader’s of Tomorrow group has been involved in provided hundreds of toys to children and families in need here in Worcester County. Still the need is far greater now than ever, and it’s time to reach out to some other people to see if perhaps some volunteers would like to step in and adopt a family that’s having a but of a tough time getting by this year.
Each year, through their affiliation with the Massachusetts Children’s Fund, requests come in from moms and dads seeking holiday presents for their children, and thus far many requests sadly have gone unfulfilled. As you know, the economy has been so hard on families, and folks that have never in their lives had to ask for help suddenly find themselves in desperate need.
For those who wish to adopt a family, it may be as simple as buying a few inexpensive toys and games, gift-wrapping them, and getting them to a mom or dad to put under the tree. If you’d like to step in and volunteer, you can email Sam Levine at sam@leadersoftomorrowma.com
