Voting Election generic 8319942 300x225 Shrewsbury election season begins once againSHREWSBURY, Massachusetts – Each year it seems to start earlier and earlier.  Here we are in January, and yes it’s already time to start talking about the upcoming elections in May.

This years races will feature two School Committee seats, currently held by Erin Canzano and Dr. Dale Magee, as well as three trustee seats for the Public Library, currently held by Beth Casavant, Nancy Gilbert, and Fran Whitney.   Also on the list will be the two seats on the Board of Selectmen held by John Lebeaux and Moira Miller.  To date, none of the incumbents have announced whether they will be seeking re-election, but it is still a bit early for that.  As with every year, there will be a host of town meeting seats open as well.

In the meantime, nomination papers for the Annual Town Election will be available at the Town Clerk’s Office on January 22, 2013. Those papers must be returned to the Town Clerk’s Office by 5:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 19, 2013 for certification.  If you have any questions, please contact the Town Clerk’s Office at (508)841-8507.
