SHREWSBURY, Massachusetts – On December 18th, the Shrewsbury Schools Music Association (SSMA) held their Grand Raffle drawing at Oak Middle School’s seventh grade concert. Pictured is the Grand Prize winner, Patricia Slaughter of Shrewsbury, with her family and David Johnson of Caola Equipment. The Grand Prize was either a new snow blower or $500 cash. Caola Equipment has been the proud sponsor of the SSMA’s Grand Raffle for many years, generously donating the snow blower or cash. The Slaughter family decided to take the cash. They did this so they may donate the money to ALS research, more commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease, to honor a friend. Second prize, two tickets to see Lord of the Dance at Hanover Theatre in March, was won by Susan Kelly, also of Shrewsbury. Third prize, a Kindle Touch, was won by Patty Meehan of Connecticut.
We would like to thank everyone who bought a ticket to our Grand Raffle. A hundred percent of all money to the SSMA goes directly to the students K-12 in the Shrewsbury Schools Music and Theatre Department. To learn more about us, please visit www.myssma.com.
