SHREWSBURY, Massachusetts – Dan Zuba of Lake Street in Shrewsbury has announced he is running for the School Committee. Dan feels as though Shrewsbury schools are loaded with talented and motivated teachers, eager children and involved parents, and he asks the important question: how do we harness these, expand them, and ensure our schools are places of ‘motivated learners’?
Our schools need to be centers where students are encouraged to create, explore and question in every area, where learning the skills needed for advancement in life and the 21st century economy is brought to the table. The town of Shrewsbury has realities, budget and otherwise, and these realities must be accounted for in our schools. We must bring new ideas to the table faster. We must form new partnerships and work conditions faster. We must be agile and focused.
Dan Zuba’s priorities are reducing class size, expanding enrichment programs, developing new partnerships between the classroom and business, improving the security provided our children and teachers, growing science and art programs district-wide while tackling and managing the district’s budget realities.
An involved member in the community, Dan serves on the Shrewsbury Youth Soccer Board, the Coolidge School Council and is a member of the Coolidge PTO. He’s a dedicated father to his two daughters, coaching soccer teams and encouraging them to try new things.
His experience working in global IT providing services and project management worldwide for global companies has taught him the value of planning, speed, and execution. Combined with a willingness to challenge conventional approaches, Dan Zuba will bring positive change and movement forward to the Shrewsbury School District.
