The Understanding Family Dynamics at End of Life session helped participants understand the dynamics within a family that govern how they behave and how they may experience the patients dying process. The program sponsored by Gentiva Health Services, Inc., was presented by Mary Beth Quinn, BSN, RN from Odyssey Hospice, a Gentiva company with support from Right at Home. Thirty attendees successfully completed the program and received continuing education credit hours.
The next program being offered by Shrewsbury Crossings is “Senior Bullying and Its Impact”, on Thursday February 7th in the morning and again on Thursday March 7th in the evening. Kelly Marcimo, Director of Community Relations, “explained that this topic was selected in light of the recent expanded awareness of bullying among our youths, and there can be very similar dynamics in the senior population. We think many people can benefit from the information being shared in this program. We hope caregivers, families, and anyone that works with the senior population will come to learn more about this critical topic. In order to reach the broadest audience we are offering this program at different times to allow people more opportunity to fit it into their schedules. We are pleased to be able to offer this program for anyone who is interested in bettering the lives of seniors!”
“Senior Bullying and Its Impact” will explore a topic not often thought associated with seniors. We will define bullying as it relates to them, explore prevalence and impact and identify approaches to support seniors. Participants will discover what to look for and how to assist seniors managing this social problem.
This event is free and open to the public; you can register online at http:shrewsburycrossingsfeb7.eventbrite.com for the first session or http:shrewsburycrossingsmar7.eventbrite.com for the second session.
