SHREWSBURYCULTURAL COUNCIL OFFERS GRANTS
SHREWSBURY, Massachusetts – The Shrewsbury Cultural Council offers grants to individuals, schools, and organizations that provide programs in the arts, humanities and sciences. Past grants have supported school field trips, afterschool programs, concerts, lectures, theater, dance, music, and art projects. Programs take place in schools, community centers, libraries, elder care facilities, town halls, parks, and wherever communities come together.The Shrewsbury Cultural Council is managed by town residents appointed by the Board of Selectmen. It is funded by the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
Grant applications are available at Town Hall or can be downloaded from the Cultural Council website: www.mass-culture.org/Shrewsbury. Grants are reimbursement-based. Payment is made after the event or project. Application original and eight copies of the grant proposal are due at the town manager’s office at town hall by October 15, 2013. The event must take place between January and December of the next year (2014). More information can be found at the Cultural Council website, www.mass-culture.org/Shrewsbury. Funded events must directly benefit the town, involve arts, humanities or interpretive sciences and have a set date, time and approved venue. Grants are not given for capital expenditures or to for-profit organizations.
