SHREWSBURY, Massachusetts – If you needed another reason to visit Brew City, on Shrewsbury Street in Worcester, besides the amazing food, great ambiance, and huge selection of over 150 local beers, I think I may just have it for you.
Last month, they assembled teams for their first ever Burger Eating Relay Race, which was held on Thursday October 10th. Together, they raised over $2000 which was earmarked for splitting up among three chosen charities. One of them, the Shrewsbury based Massachusetts Children’s Fund, received a sizable donation this week, which will go a long way towards achieving their goals of providing baby food, diapers, and supplies to underprivileged children here in the Greater Shrewsbury area.
The need for such things is just growing exponentially year after year, and it certainly wasn’t helped by the government shut-down, which emptied the coffers of many local food banks.
I know you’ll join me in sending out a huge thanks to the owners and staff of Brew City for this wonderful surprise donation, and perhaps stop by sometime soon to enjoy a great meal, knowing that you’re also supporting local causes in the process.
