SHREWSBURY, Massachusetts – On Friday, November 1st, 2013 at 11:35 pm Shrewsbury Officers were dispatched to Flynn’s Truck Stop, 307 Hartford Turnpike in Shrewsbury for a reported domestic fight in progress. Upon arrival the victim was found to be safe at the stop and the suspect (Kyle Thomas, Homeless, 54 years old) was apprehended a short distance from the business after attempting to flee on foot.
Thomas is the ex-boyfriend of the victim who had an active restraining order against him. Earlier that evening Thomas had forced the victim into his vehicle in Shrewsbury and refused to let her out. Thomas assaulted the victim and also threatened to kill her. During the incident Thomas drove the victim to Westboro where the Police in Westboro are investigating a sexual assault. Thomas then drove back to Shrewsbury where the victim escaped and Shrewsbury Police were notified. Thomas was arrested and charged:
1.) Violation Restraining Order
2.) Assault & Battery x 2
3.) Assault to Murder
5.) Witness Intimidation
6.) Threat To Commit a Crime (Murder)
7.) OUI – Alcohol 2nd Offense
8.) Suspended License
9.) Disturbing the Peace
Thomas was held at the Shrewsbury Police until he was transported to Westboro District Court for arraignment Monday morning. Shrewsbury Officers involved in the arrest and investigation are Sgt. Nicholas Perna, Officer Jason Palmatier and Officer Sean Maynard.
