SHREWSBURY – The Lantern extends out deepest condolences to one of my favorite teachers, Oak Middle School – 8 Gold teacher Annie Tombeno and her family on the tragic loss of her brother yesterday. Oliver James Tombeno, of Sturbridge, MA, died from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He is survived by his parents James J. and Maura (Duggan) Tombeno of Sturbridge, and 2 sisters Emily and her husband Jordan Vallon of Dudley and their son James, and Anne “Annie” Tombeno of Sturbridge, his maternal grandmother Marjorie Duggan of W. Roxbury, MA, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was born in Boston, raised in Sturbridge. Ollie graduated from Brewster Academy in Wolfboro, NH and attended UMass/Boston and presently attending Quinsigamond College. He was an avid sports enthusiast having played baseball, and basketball for Sturbridge leagues. He was a tax consultant at Liberty Tax Service in Milford.
Calling hours will be Tuesday Feb. 9th from 4-7PM at Sansoucy Funeral Home 40 Marcy St. Southbridge. The funeral Mass will be Wednesday Feb. 10th at 10AM in Notre Dame Church 446 Main St. Southbridge, MA, with Rev. Peter Precourt officiating. Burial will follow in St. Anne’s Cemetery Sturbridge.
