Shrewsbury League of Women Voters to Host Candidate Forum

lwv logo Shrewsbury League of Women Voters to Host Candidate Forum Shrewsbury MassachusettsWHO: The Shrewsbury League of Women Voters is a non-partisan organization which does not support or oppose any political party or candidate, and maintains that its mission is to encourage informed and active participation of citizens in government, increasing the understanding of major public policy issues and influencing public policy through education and advocacy.
Candidates for municipal office in the May 6th Annual Town Election were invited to participate in the forum. Shrewsbury voters will elect 2 seats on the Board of Selectmen, 2 seats on the School Committee, one seat on the Housing Authority, and three seats on the Board of Library Trustees. The Housing Authority seat is for a five-year term, while the remaining are for three-year terms.
The following candidates have confirmed their attendance: For Selectman, Maurice M. DePalo, candidate for re-election; Henry J. Fitzgerald, candidate for re-election; and Benjamin W. Tartaglia. For School Committee, Sandra M. Fryc, candidate for re-election; John R. Samia, candidate for re-election; and John P. Martin. For Housing Authority, Paul Campaniello, candidate for re-election; and John Medlinskas. For Library Trustee,, candidate for re-election; Frank B. Stille, candidate for re-election; and Mark Adler.
WHAT: The forum will provide all candidates to answer questions prepared and provided in advance by the Board of the Shrewsbury League of Women Voters; candidates seeking the same offices will each answer the same questions. Members of the public will have a chance to ask questions of the candidates.
WHEN: Sunday, April 27th from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
WHERE: Shrewsbury Town Hall, 100 Maple Avenue; Selectmen’s Meeting Room.
