The Emerald Ash Borer, which has destroyed more than 30 million trees in Southeastern Michigan alone, has now been found in Dalton, MA (Berkshire County) as well as in North Andover (Essex County).

The Earth Stewardship Ministry of the First Congregational Church of Shrewsbury (FCC) will be hosting a presentation by Stacy Kilb, ALB Outreach Coordinator for the MA Dept. of Agricultural Resources, on Sunday, May 18th at 11:00 AM in the Chapel. Come learn how to identify these invasive pests, the damage they can cause to trees, and what can be done about it.

Stacy will also provide an update on the Shrewsbury infestation. Following the presentation, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a tree survey in the neighborhood. Light refreshments will be served. For planning purposes, it would be helpful to register at

FCC is located at the intersection of Route 140 and Church Road in Shrewsbury Center.  Additional parking is available at the Shrewsbury Public Library and Heald & Chiampa Funeral Home.
