Many Shrewsbury residents are being squeezed by higher costs for food, gas, town fees, college tuition, you name it, but their incomes are not increasing nearly as much, if at all. Residents should not tell other residents that they must pay more taxes or leave town. What would happen to Shrewsbury’s budget if hundreds of homeowners could not keep up with unreasonable increases in property taxes? Shrewsbury’s educational performance continues to be excellent, and good parents and businesses have shown $441,726 reasons (PTO donations 2014) why their children will receive a great education.
