Shrewsbury High School Play: “Charlotte’s Web”

SHREWSBURY, Massachusetts – On Friday November 8th, and Saturday 9th, Shrewsbury High School will bring to life on stage one of E.B. Whites most beloved children’s books Charlotte’s Web.

Charlotte’s Web is a timeless tale of friendship and loyalty that is suitable for all audiences. The novel tells the story of a pig named Wilbur and his friendship with a barn spider named Charlotte. When Wilbur is in danger of being slaughtered by the farmer, Charlotte writes messages praising Wilbur in her web in order to persuade the farmer to let him live. Our young cast members have also paired up with the Shrewsbury Public Library this year to help promote reading. The library will be hosting a special Charlotte’s Web day on November 2nd starting at noon. There will be an ongoing craft that day as well as E.B. White’s niece, Lindsay Morand, who will be there to speak about her great uncle and his life. In addition, Fern and her barnyard friends will be there to greet everyone and you might even get a chance to win free tickets to see the special Saturday, November 9th children’s matinee of Charlotte’s Web.

Tickets can be ordered via email at musictickets@shrewsbury.k12.ma.us or by calling our ticket line at 508-841-8300 ext.1088.  Show times are Friday and Saturday November 8th and 9th at 7pm; tickets $10 adults and $8 students and senior citizens and our special children’s matinee is Saturday, November 9th at 2pm where all ticket prices will be $5.
