Blue Christmas Service – Wellspring Church

blue-christmas-longShrewsbury, December 7, 2017: Wellspring Church announces a Blue Christmas Service on Saturday December 16 at 7:00PM in Lawrence Hall at the Trinity Episcopal Church at 440 Main Street in Shrewsbury. A free soup and bread meal will be served from 6pm to 7pm. The service will start at 7pm.
This special worship service will feature prayers, Scriptures and beautiful music that acknowledge that God’s presence is for those who mourn, for those who struggle, and that God’s Word comes to shine light in our darkness.

Christian churches throughout the world commonly celebrate Christmas with great festivity, joyful music and exuberant worship experiences. Pastor Nancy Allen explains that for many people this season is not one of joy but truly a painful season in which recent losses seem more intense; those who have endured long periods of unemployment or physical hardship find it hard to find reasons to celebrate. Our Blue Christmas service is designed to help people refocus and experience God’s gift to us all in a different way, to help each other find God’s presence even when life itself seems overwhelming.

Wellspring Church is a warm community of faith serving Shrewsbury and the surrounding area. The congregation meets on Sunday mornings for worship, nursery, and children’s Sunday School at the Trinity Episcopal Church – Lawrence Hall at 440 Main Street in Shrewsbury. Wellspring Church is an intentionally open and public community of faith, and all people of any race, age, church experience, or lifestyle are welcome to join in this time of celebratory worship.
