Central One donates $20,000 to Shrewsbury High School Athletics

Central OneShrewsbury, MA, Sep 27, 2017 – Central One Federal Credit Union presented students and staff at Shrewsbury High School (SHS) a check for $20,000 on Wednesday, September 27th. The donation will help fund the school’s 2017-2018 athletic department. This is the fifth year that Central One has funded the SHS athletic program.

“We continue to be very grateful for Central One’s generosity” commented Shrewsbury Superintendent Dr. Joseph Sawyer. “This donation helps our teams purchase equipment and other items that they need.”

Jason Costa, Shrewsbury High School Athletic Director added, “It’s just wonderful what they have done for us over the years,” he said. “I really think that when you talk about the Shrewsbury Colonials, you really also talk about Central One and their generosity to us.”

In addition to the contributions to the athletic department, the staff at Central One teaches financial literacy classes attended by nearly 400 students each year and operates a branch inside SHS for student and faculty use.
