SHREWSBURY, Massachusetts – Even before the Shrewsbury Public Library has opened for its first Sunday of the 2014 Sunday Season, generous donors have already provided enough funds to cover half of the season. With donations received to date, the library will be open at least sixteen Sunday afternoons this season, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m., from October 6 through late January 2014. If the entire season is funded, the library will be open on Sundays through May 2014. This is great news for the adults, families, students and others who use the library to catch up on work or homework assignments, connect to the free Wi-Fi, read recent newspapers or magazines, learn about free downloadable eBooks or magazines, use the Early Learning Discovery computers, or just spend time picking out books, audio books or DVDs. Community groups who use the meeting rooms are also appreciative of access to the facility on Sundays.
Early sponsors to this season’s program include the Shrewsbury Education Association and Wegmans, who have each provided funding for two Sundays. Sponsoring one Sunday each are Wei Kong Yeoh &Yubin Liang, the Shrewsbury Lions Club, the Shrewsbury Social Club, Webster Five Cents Savings Bank, Polito Development Corp., the Rotary Club of Shrewsbury, Katherine Canney, Laurie & Matt Hogan, the Bozenhard Charitable Fund of the greater Worcester Community Foundation, a gift in Memory of James A. Heedles and one anonymous donor.
There are still sponsorship slots available to help maintain the full season through May 2013. Interested parties can contact Library Director Ellen Dolan at (508) 841-8537 or email@example.com for further information or to arrange a sponsorship.
