As part of the multi-day conference, the Chamber of Commerce will hold its popular one-day Central Mass. Business Expo on Monday, September 8 from 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. The Expo is one of the region’s largest business-to-business trade shows, featuring a Developers’ Pavilion, an Innovation and Technology Stage, and a Retail Marketplace. Combined, the conference and expo are expected to draw more than 3,000 people from the Northeast region.
“This year’s Central Mass. Business Expo is a fantastic opportunity to get in front of new audiences,” said Timothy Murray, President and CEO, Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce. “We have reached far and wide to work with regional partners to bring a jam-packed conference and expo that is ideal for any business professional trying to grow or expand their business reach. You don’t want to miss this!”
This year’s conference and expo will kick-off at 7 am with the Chamber’s signature Breakfast Club, featuring keynote speaker Robert DeMartini, President and CEO of New Balance. The show floor will open at 9 am and include a number of educational workshops focused on sales, lending, marketing, business resources, and more. These workshops will be offered by experts in their respective fields such as the Small Business Administration, the Chamber of Commerce, Sandler Training, the Worcester Regional Research Bureau, and others! Additional workshops hosted by the WBDC, NADCO, and NEDA will be held on the third floor of the convention center and will focus on everything from urban redevelopment to creative placemaking to federal contracting. Workshops offered by the Chamber and SBA are free to attend while the additional offerings on the third floor require the conference fee.
New this year, a luncheon will be hosted by the U.S. Small Business Administration and will showcase the New England Small Business of the Year award recipients. Later in the day, the Chamber of Commerce will host its popular Business After Hours cocktail and networking event at 4:15 p.m., with culinary samples from local restaurants who will again vie for the coveted Silver Ladle Award. Back by popular demand, these area food purveyors will also compete for the People’s Choice Award in the Blue Plate Special competition. This culinary challenge asks for their food samples to include a blue ingredient with the winner awarded a JetBlue flight! Also on Monday, there will be an evening dinner awards program hosted by the Northeastern Economic Developers’ Association. With more than 150 exhibitors and live broadcasts throughout the day, the conference and expo is action-packed and provides unparalleled opportunities to increase your brand, meet with potential customers, and develop new business relationships.
