Shrewsbury State Representative Matt Beaton’s Third Annual Beaton Charity Classic Golf Tournament Is a Success

BeatonCharity2014_Check PresentationSHREWSBURY, Massachusetts – State Representative Matt Beaton is three for three when he hosted a stellar day for golf on Monday, August 18 at The Haven Country Club in Boylston, a beautiful private, 18-hole championship golf course. Matt was delighted to have Lieutenant Governor Candidate Karyn Polito stop by for the continental breakfast.  Ms. Polito is the one who began the Golf Classic when she was State Rep. for Shrewsbury and a portion of Westborough. Matt couldn’t be happier to carry the tradition forward, and he has done a fantastic job carrying it forward while building the classic from two charities to three and the trending trajectory is outstanding.  This year over $40,000 was raised in support of three worthy charities in Shrewsbury and Westborough. According to Representative Beaton, “I am humbled by the generosity of our tremendous sponsors, auction donors and the dedication of our golf host committee. The success of this year’s tournament allows us to assist a number of people in our communities and be nimble when unforeseen community situations arise.”  Each beneficiary receives $13,500. And they are:

·        St. Anne’s Human Services assists the poor and needy in the local community with food and clothing,
·        Shrewsbury Youth and Family Services is a private, non-profit community counseling and social services agency,
·        Westborough Food Pantry serves families in need a good array of nutritious food to supplement their own resources.
