Shrewsbury turns out for Beaton golf tourney

SHREWSBURY, Massachusetts – State Representative Matt Beaton held his first charity golf tournament Monday, August 20, 2012 at Mount Pleasant Country Club in Boylston, MA. According to Representative Beaton, “we are beyond thrilled with the turn-out of our first golf tournament and we were blessed with outstanding weather conditions for golf. The professional staff at Mount Pleasant Country Club (MPCC) went above and beyond in assisting us and the course couldn’t have been a more perfect venue for our tournament. Our 146 golfers enjoyed a BBQ lunch on the course and the 19th Hole Reception at the Clubhouse featured delicious food. This sold-out event exceeded our initial goal of raising $10,000 for each of our three charities, and I am pleased to report that a total of $34,500 was achieved”.

The three beneficiaries are:

St. Anne’s Human Service, Shrewsbury Youth and Family Services, and the Westborough Food Pantry

Tournament contest winners are: First Place Foursome – Tom McDavitt, Steve Santucci, Aaron Murphy and Connor McDavitt. Second Place Foursome included Tom McNamara, Frank McNamara, Paul DeLeo and Kevin Simes and Third Place Foursome was George Cadette, Andrew Cadette, Perry Lopriore, and Mike Vitols. Frank McNamara won the men’s Closest to the Pin while Cara Dipierro won the women’s Closest to the Pin contest. Adam Marcoulie won the men’s Longest Drive and Gretchen Young won the women’s Longest Drive contests.
