Special course on ID theft offered for Shrewsbury seniors
SHREWSBURY Massachusetts – Shrewsbury Crossings is hosting an information session on Thursday, February 28th
at 2:00 pm specifically designed to help seniors and those who care about them protect against Identity Theft and Senior Scams. Seniors can protect themselves against personal crimes with the first-hand knowledge this program will provide.
The program presenter, A. Wayne Sampson, Executive Director of the Massachusetts Police Chief’s association and retired Shrewsbury Police Chief will offer an overview of the problems seniors face with Identity Theft and Senior Scams. He will identify the most common scams and situations seniors need to watch out for, and give tips for protecting privacy and identity as well as how to avoid getting caught up in a scam.
This program will address computer, phone and in person solicitations people need to be aware of to successfully avoid the savvy traps predators set for seniors who are often too trusting. There will be advice for those who are concerned about seniors and what signs may indicate a senior is in the midst of a theft or scam.
