4G deployment: Orange in good shape in October, Free follows suit

The National Frequency Agency (ANFR) shared the data from the use of 4G antennas, which took place in October. One operator was really in good shape, it’s orange.

Orange deployed 435 new 4G locations in one month. The incumbent operator thus has a total of 24,027 across France. He is way ahead of the other three. For example, SFR ranks second with a total of 20,586 4G locations. However, the operator with the logo only launched 193 new 4G locations in October.

Bouygues Telecom is third in terms of the number of 4G antennas. The operator has a total of 19,956 in France. In October alone, 219 new 4G locations were introduced. Free Mobile lags behind with a total of 18,003 4G sites. With 330 new 4G locations, it was the second most active operator in October.

What about 5G? The ANFR says that requests for the new cellular network will only be published by the operators after the packages have been launched. Orange and Free Mobile have already announced that they will be offering their 5G offerings in December. SFR and Bouygues Telecom are likely to do the same thing. Despite everything, Bouygues Telecom has been offering “5G-compatible” packages for several months.
