Fantastic Beasts: Actor Mads Mikkelsen replaces Johnny Depp as Grindelwald

A quick look back at the facts: Johnny Depp was “kindly” removed from production of the third episode of Fantastic Beasts shortly after his defamation lawsuit against The Sun failed. The American actor had only interpreted one scene of the film so far (before filming was suspended due to COVID-19), and the Warner will not have waited long for his replacement to be appointed. If the Collider site is to be believed, the dark Mads Mikkelsen is currently in discussions to take on the role of Grindelwald.

Fans have been waiting for Colin Farell to return, but the actor can already be seen on the set of The Batman with Robert Pattinson. Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen is impressive in almost all of his roles (including Kojima’s Death Stranding game) and appears to be a top notch recruit. Fantastic Beasts 3 is expected in theaters on July 15, 2022. Until then, we can still hope that something has been forgotten about COVID.
