PS5: The PS4 version of the games accidentally starts up

The PS5 can play both PS4 games and PS5 games. But you have to be careful: some players have found that they are playing the PS4 version and not the PS5 version. This is especially true for the games Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Spider-Man: Miles Morales.

The Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War cross-gen pack allows you to use the PS4 version and the PS5 version. Obviously, players who bought this bundle from their PS5 expected to play the PS5 version. But what was their surprise to see that they actually played the PS4 version. The plot is similar for Spider-Man: Miles Morales.

To force the PS5 version, you’ll need to click the three little dots next to the play button and enter the correct version. We now have to hope that Sony will correct the situation on its side and not activate the PS4 version if the one for PS5 exists. Unless at some point the player asks for a reason.

According to Eurogamer, this problem is causing traffic jams to download games. Those who have the PS4 version of a game can’t always download the PS5 version for some strange reason. Some gamers have managed to get it through a console reset. But let’s say this is not the ideal solution.
