Vivo, now the fifth largest smartphone maker in the world behind Apple, has just formalized its next Android overlay, Origin OS. The latter will replace Funtouch OS 11 in the brand’s future phones and go way beyond a simple update. From the outset, Origin OS actually promises an almost complete overhaul of the Android overlay. Given the recent developments in graphic overlays at most Android manufacturers (overlays ever closer to “standard” Android), we can decently rely on a surface that is even more sophisticated and functional. From now on, sober is “beautiful”. It also remains to be seen which Vivo smartphones are eligible for the Origin OS update if this overlay doesn’t just apply to the manufacturer’s next flagships. Origin OS will be featured in greater detail at the next Vivo Developer Conference on November 19th.
Funtouch OS 11 is already very nifty and will soon be replaced by Origin OS, an Android overlay that is apparently even more sober
