Xiaomi is launching its Mi Box 4S / 4S Pro with 8K support

Xiaomi today presents its new multimedia boxes, the Mi Box 4S and the Mi Box 4S Pro. Like the existing models (like the Mi Box S), they run on Android TV.

The Mi Box 4S Pro supports 8K content. It won’t be useful to the vast majority of consumers today. However, Xiaomi shows that its TV box has enough power to accept such a video stream.

The box also contains the Amlogic S905X chip, 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage. There is also support for HDMI 2.1 and there should be a USB port. It is available for the first time in China for 399 yuan (51 euros). Xiaomi has not yet announced a release date for other countries.

The Mi Box 4S is a more classic development compared to the Mi Box S. According to Xiaomi, the new box supports 4K and has a new ARM processor. The design has also evolved. Under the hood there is 2 GB of RAM and 8 GB of storage space.

It is available now in China for 289 yuan. Again, Xiaomi does not announce a release date for the International.
